CONCORD, New Hampshire — A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison in New Hampshire for distributing cocaine and possessing the drug and others.

The U.S. Attorney's office says in 2013, Nashua detectives conducted a controlled purchase of cocaine from 31-year-old Leonardo Almonte-Ramirez of Lawrence, Massachusetts. During a search of his vehicle, officers found a "sophisticated electronic hidden compartment" that concealed the drugs and other items.

The prosecution of Almonte-Ramirez arose from an investigation by the police departments of Nashua and Hudson, in addition to federal agencies.
