ST. LOUIS — The driver has been arrested following a hit-and-run accident in St. Louis that killed a man selling roses.

The accident happened late Sunday on Natural Bridge Road. Police say the victim was 64-year-old Jerrel Dean Nixon, the brother of Lee "The Rose Man" Nixon and one of his successors in selling roses and other items at nightclubs and lounges.

It was the third time since April a pedestrian has been fatally struck on Natural Bridge Road.

Lee Nixon sold roses for 30 years until he was the victim of a homicide in 2008. His daughter and Jerrel Nixon then took over the business.

Police say a Chrysler 200 struck Nixon in a crosswalk. A witness told police the car was speeding and ran a red light.
