PEORIA, Illinois — Warren Jones nailed 5 of 10 attempts from long range to post a career-high 33 points and lead Bradley to an 84-73 victory over Central Michigan on Tuesday night.
Central Michigan led 14-12 midway of the first half, but Grier made a jumper, Jones nailed a 3-pointer, Mike Shaw hit a jump shot and Jones made two more 3-point jumpers to leap out to a 25-14 lead with 7:32 remaining in the first half. Bradley led 37-29 at the break.
Central Michigan's Josh Kozinski hit a 3-pointer to trail 63-55 with 6:23 left in the game but could get no closer.
The Braves shot 24 of 46 while limiting the Chippewas to 21 of 48. Bradley also outmuscled the Chippewas under the boards, grabbing 41 rebounds to 20.
Chris Fowler led Central Michigan (5-1) with 24 points.
