USDA says North Dakota milk production up 5 percent during quarter running October through December

FARGO, North Dakota — The U.S. Department of Agriculture says milk production in North Dakota during the quarter running October through December was up 5 percent from the previous year.

The USDA's Agricultural Statistics Services says production in the state during the quarter totaled 83 million pounds, up from 79 pounds during the same period the previous year.

The average number of milk cows was 16,000 head.
