LENOIR, North Carolina — Authorities say a man has been charged with first-degree murder after a stabbing in Lenoir.

Investigators said 62-year-old Bobby Sparks was arrested early Tuesday after Sammy Sturgill was found dead in Sparks' home.

Neighbors told police that Sparks knocked on several doors after the stabbing trying to find someone to call 911.

Sparks' family says the two men met in prison.

Police didn't give a motive for the stabbing.

It wasn't known if Sparks had a lawyer.
