HARTFORD, Connecticut — A Simsbury attorney has been named to Connecticut's Board of Regents for Higher Education.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy appointed David R. Jimenez to serve on the panel that oversees Connecticut's state colleges and universities.

Jimenez is a shareholder in the Hartford office of Jackson Lewis P.C., a national law firm. He is co-chairman of the firm's corporate governance and internal investigations practices group. He represents publicly traded companies and privately held organizations on corporate governance matters.

Malloy said Jimenez's expertise advising top corporations will help the board as it works to connect "our higher education system with important economic sectors."

Jimenez called the appointment both an honor and privilege.
