Woman shot to death in car in northeast Philadelphia, man gunned down in south Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Authorities say a woman was found shot to death in a car in northeast Philadelphia.

Police report that shortly before 5:30 a.m. Saturday, police found the 32-year-old victim in the driver's seat of the car in the Kensington section of the city.

Investigators said she had gunshot wounds to the head and torso area. A police spokeswoman said the woman was pronounced dead minutes later by a medical unit.

The victim's name wasn't immediately released pending notification of her family. Police said they have no arrests or motive in the case.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. in south Philadelphia, a 30-year-old man was found on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead minutes later at Presbyterian Hospital. Investigators also report no arrests or motive in that case.
