WILMINGTON, North Carolina — A Wilmington man will serve between 10 and 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to stabbing a man to death more than two years ago.

Area media outlets report that 26-year-old Anthony Leon Harris pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 43-year-old Timothy Chinn.

Authorities say Chinn was stabbed 14 times in a fight at an apartment complex on Oct. 9, 2012. Authorities say Harris had a knife while Chinn had a baseball bat.

In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped a charge of first-degree murder against Harris.
