DENVER — A jury has convicted a 28-year-old man of murder for his role in a fatal shooting during a botched marijuana robbery in the Denver suburb of Edgewater.

The Denver Post reports (http://goo.gl/NblKuq ) Jose Luis Palacios was found guilty Friday in the Oct. 17, 2013, death of 41-year-old John Goggin. A 25-year-old co-defendant, Floyd Anthony Sandoval, Jr., was previously convicted of murder and is serving life in prison without parole.

Investigators say Palacios and Sandoval met Goggin to buy several pounds of marijuana for $13,500. When they arrived, they pulled guns and tried to rob the man.

Goggin also pulled a gun and was shot.

Palacios could face life in prison without parole when he is sentenced July 1.
