Forecasters have issued a winter weather advisory for several counties in western Oklahoma

NORMAN, Oklahoma — Forecasters have issued a winter weather advisory for several counties in western Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory for Ellis, Roger Mills, Custer, Beckham, Washita, Harmon, Greer, Kiowa and Jackson counties beginning at midnight Friday and ending at noon Saturday.

Forecasters say snow will develop over the Panhandle later Friday then move to the east. It's expected to taper off by midday Saturday.

Forecasters are expecting accumulations of 1 to 3 inches of snow in west-central Oklahoma.
