Mississippi drug dealer facing new charges accepts plea deal in distribution of cocaine case

GULFPORT, Mississippi — A Mississippi drug dealer facing new charges in federal court has accepted a plea deal in the distribution of cocaine in Jackson County.

The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1NdkRFs) 34-year-old Dwan Williams pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court to possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

He faces up to 20 years in prison at his sentencing set for Jan. 27.

A federal grand jury indicted Williams April 9, 2014, on eight drug-distribution counts, four each involving cocaine and crack cocaine. The indictment alleged he sold both drugs in Jackson County and elsewhere from July 2012 through September 2013.
