TUCSON, Arizona — Police are investigating what they say is the killing of a Tucson man who had not shown up to work in nearly a week.
Sgt. Pete Dugan says police conducted a welfare check at the request of the victim's co-worker on Friday around 8 p.m.
Dugan says officers went to the victim's home at West Budmore Terrace and were able to enter through an open door.
Authorities found the victim's body, which showed obvious signs of trauma. Police on Saturday identified the victim as 66-year-old David Martinez.
They say no details about the cause of death will be released while the investigation remains in its early stages.
Police ask anyone with any information to call 911.
