Light earthquake rattles Los Angeles area; no damage reported

LOS ANGELES — A light earthquake has struck the Los Angeles area.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-3.4 quake hit West Athens area, about four miles east of Los Angeles International Airport, at about 9:54 p.m. Saturday. The agency says the shaking was felt across the greater Los Angeles area.

A sheriff's deputy in South Los Angeles says there are no initial reports of damage.
