INDIANAPOLIS — The National Weather Service is warning that some Indiana residents could see their first batch of accumulating snow on their commute to work Monday.

The weather service says snowfall accumulations by Monday morning will range from 1 to 2 inches in the northern Wabash Valley and 2 to 5 inches south of Interstate 70. Slick and snow covered roadways will create travel difficulties for the Monday morning commute.

In northern Indiana, where some areas received more than a foot of snow last week, an inch of snow is expected Monday afternoon.

The weather service says much colder air will cover central Indiana Monday afternoon and night, with temperatures falling into the single digits and wind chills between 0 and 10 below by early Tuesday.
