MINOT, North Dakota — While attendance at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot dipped slightly this year, the 50th anniversary event had more exhibits than ever before.
Fair Manager Renae Korslien says there were just under 50,000 exhibits on display at last summer's event. There were exhibits from 52 of the state's 53 counties. Sioux County was the exception.
The Minot Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1lixoRs ) Korslien gave her report during the North Dakota State Fair Association's annual meeting in Minot on Monday.
Officials earlier said attendance during the fair's nine-day run was 305,093 — 3 percent lower than in 2014 and 5 percent lower than the 2013 record.
The State Fair features carnival rides, food vendors, animal shows, 4-H exhibits, musical concerts and other events. Next year's State Fair is scheduled July 22-30.
