BISMARCK, North Dakota — A state judge in Grand Forks plans to retire March 15.

Judge Lawrence Jahnke of the Northeast Central Judicial District was appointed a district judge in May 1989 and won election in 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008.

He served 20 years as a judge advocate in the United States Air Force before entering private legal practice in Grand Forks in 1986.
