FRANKFURT, Germany — Wolfsburg found out there is life after Kevin de Bruyne, beating Schalke 3-0 in a showdown between two highly rated Bundesliga teams Friday.

Wolfsburg director Klaus Allofs said before the match that "only a few small things" remain to be settled before the transfer can be completed.

Also watching from the stands was forward Ivan Perisic, who is the target of Inter Milan.

Bas Dost opened the scoring for Wolfsburg, while Ricardo Rodriguez converted a penalty and Timm Klose completed the win in the second half.

De Bruyne was Bundesliga's player of the season and his transfer is reportedly worth 75 million euros ($84.5 million).
