GIBSON, Louisiana — Terrebonne Parish sheriff's deputies say a welder died after he fell 55-60 feet from a platform barge at a business in Gibson.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter tells The Courier (http://bit.ly/1Tx4IB7) 44-year-old James Patrick Lafleur (luh-FLUHR'), of Morgan City, was pronounced dead Wednesday at Teche Hospital.

Larpenter says the accident happened at Modern American Recycle Service.
