ANDERSON, South Carolina — Authorities say three dogs attacked a 77-year-old woman as she walked with a friend in Anderson.

Police said officers found the woman covered in blood Thursday. She said the dogs attacked her, and she tried to beat them with umbrella and sticks, but they kept attacking.

Authorities say the friend was able to escape and call 911.

Police say the woman is recovering from her injuries.

Animal control seized the dogs. Authorities say one of them had an up-to-date rabies shot, but the other two were not vaccinated.
