PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Former House Speaker Gordon Fox has belatedly filed his campaign finance report for the second quarter and says he continues to have nearly $250,000 in his campaign account.

Fox resigned his leadership post in March a day after his home and Statehouse office were raided by the FBI, IRS and State Police. The Board of Elections, which oversees campaign finance reports, has said they were contacted by authorities about Fox.

The report for the three-month period that ended June 30 was due to the board by July 31, but Fox did not file it until Friday afternoon.

It lists no expenses or fundraising during the quarter, and a balance of $ 244,589.83.

Richard Thornton of the Board of Elections says Fox will be fined $45 for the late filing.
