KLAMATH FALLS, Oregon — The Klamath Irrigation District will reinstate its membership with the Klamath Water Users Association, a nonprofit that lobbies for agriculture.
The Herald and News reports (http://is.gd/Ydc7hZ ) that the board voted Tuesday to rejoin the group after withdrawing from the association on Nov. 16.
At a special meeting Tuesday, many people questioned why the board had decided to leave the association in the first place.
Board officials say the KID is in talks about forming alliances with other districts that do not belong to Water Users and may hire a lobbying firm in Salem and another in Washington, D.C.
