PHOENIX — Arizona Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on the Gila River Indian Community.

They say the vehicle involved in Thursday night's crash was a marked Gila River Police Department vehicle.

At the time, the tribal officer was responding to an unknown disturbance call.

DPS says the patrol vehicle allegedly struck an 18-year-old man who was walking in the roadway.

The pedestrian died from his injuries after being transported to the Chandler Regional Medical Center.

The name of the man hasn't been released yet.
