HOWELL, New Jersey — Investigators say a motorist killed in a central New Jersey crash last weekend suffered a "medical episode" moments before his vehicle struck a tree.
Howell Township police tell NJ.com (http://bit.ly/1zu5OAu) that an autopsy determined 43-year-old Russell Banasiak, of Woodbridge Township, died of natural causes from heart disease.
Banasiak had left his girlfriend's home in nearby Jackson Township shortly before the crash occurred on Fort Palins Road around 12:15 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Banasiak was alone in his vehicle when the crash occurred. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
