BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut — Police say a restaurant worker in Bridgeport was fatally shot last weekend.
Police say 33-year-old Derrick Hill was leaving the Rootsman Kitchen in Bridgeport around 6:30 p.m. Saturday when he was confronted by a gunman.
The shooter fired multiple shots into the restaurant after Hill ran back inside.
Police say Hill died at the scene. Another restaurant employee, 50-year-old Dennis Hines, was also struck by a bullet.
Hines sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was taken to Saint Vincent's Medical Center with injuries that aren't life-threatening.
The shooting remains under investigation. It marks the city's ninth homicide this year.
