PROVO, Utah — The daughter of a Utah doctor convicted of killing his wife is identifying herself publicly as the woman accusing him of sexual abuse.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1lDp0nY ) Dr. Martin MacNeill's adult daughter, Alexis Somers, told reporters outside a Provo courtroom Thursday that she came forward to seek justice and let people know her father is a "murderer and sexual predator."

MacNeill is on trial on charges of forcible sexual abuse after a 2007 incident prosecutors say happened a month after his wife, Michele, was found dead. MacNeill was convicted of murder last November.

The Associated Press doesn't normally use the names of alleged victims of sexual crimes but is identifying Somers because she's asked to be identified.

MacNeill maintains his innocence in the sex abuse case.
