Brownsville man pleads guilty to 2014 shooting deaths of wife, son, 4, gets life in prison

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — A South Texas man must serve life in prison for the 2014 shooting deaths of his wife and their 4-year-old son at the family's home.

Donald Edward Pierce of Brownsville pleaded guilty Thursday to two capital murder counts.

A judge then sentenced Pierce to life in prison without parole in a case Brownsville police have said involved domestic violence.

The bodies of Pierce's wife, Diana, and their son, William, were found Sept. 19, 2014, in some rubbish in the backyard. Police had been summoned to check a foul odor.
