SEWARD, Nebraska — The Nebraska State Patrol says its officers have seized cocaine with an estimated street value of $1 million after a traffic stop in southeast Nebraska.

The patrol says the drugs were found Saturday during the search of a sport utility vehicle that had been pulled over for speeding in Seward County. A trooper reported spotting several suspicious packages in the rear passenger compartment, which led to the search. The patrol says nearly 59 pounds of cocaine was found in 17 packages discovered throughout the SUV.

The driver and a passenger were arrested. Online court records don't yet list their cases, and it's unclear whether they have attorneys.
