RICHMOND, Virginia — The Commonwealth Transportation Board has awarded seven contracts for projects totaling about $194 million.
The Virginia Department of Transportation says the board approved the contracts Wednesday.
By far the largest contract is $139 million to widen and reconstruct several miles of Interstate 64 in Newport News and York and James City counties. The project is expected to be completed in July 2019.
Other projects include replacing the U.S. 340 bridge over the South River in Waynesboro, two U.S. 58 bridge projects in the Hampton Roads District and three paving projects in the Richmond District.
