FBI joins probe in shooting death of woman who went out for a walk in Manchester

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — The FBI has joined the investigation into the fatal shooting of a woman who was killed as she walked through her Manchester neighborhood.

WMUR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1l4MiL2 ) that federal investigators will offer assistance to the Manchester Police Department and state attorney general's office as they probe the death of 62-year-old Denise Robert.

Authorities say Robert was walking in the North End section of Manchester at about 9 p.m. on Aug. 30 when she was shot. An autopsy determined she died of a single gunshot wound.

There were reports of a pickup truck speeding away with a white man in his 20s or 30s wearing a white tank top and having close-cropped hair.

The neighborhood is considered safe. A reward for information on the case has grown to more than $42,000.
