AURORA, Colorado — A kidnapping and robbery suspect who was shot by Aurora police has died.

Police spokeswoman Diana Cooley says officers shot the man as they were trying to arrest him in a neighborhood west of Springhill Golf Course at about 1:15 p.m. Friday. The man, whose name and age have not been released, died at a hospital.

Cooley did not know how many times he was shot and declined to say if he was armed or what led to the shooting. No other injuries were reported.
