A Staten Island woman charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of the father of 2 of her children has been ordered held without bail

NEW YORK — A Staten Island woman charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of the father of two of her children has been ordered held without bail.

Christina Quinones was arrested Saturday on murder and related charges after police on Saturday found 31-year-old Ruben Jimenez stabbed in the chest inside an apartment in the Todt Hill Houses. The Manhattan man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Quinones' lawyer Andrea Ibrahim argued at her Sunday arraignment that her client should be released on her own recognizance. She says the couple had a history of domestic abuse and that the stabbing looks like self-defense.

Police say her children were in the apartment during the stabbing.

Quinones is expected back in court on Feb. 16.
