PORTLAND, Oregon — Ten-year-old Eithen Hamilton says it was only a baby rattlesnake about 6 inches long but it felt like two needles stabbing his hand when it bit him.
He was playing on rocks at Prineville Reservoir last weekend when the snake struck as he reached down to pick up a toy car.
KGW reports (http://bit.ly/1oHh0sz ) his mother Aimie Hamilton called 911 and a helicopter took him to a hospital in Bend that called for a plane to fly him to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland.
Eithen was treated and ready to be released Monday. He says he'll be keeping an eye out for any snakes.
