HUNTINGTON, West Virginia — Beech Fork Dam plans to offer tours to the public.
The tours will be available on May 29 as part of National Dam Safety Awareness Day.
Members of the community are invited to learn about the role of Beech Fork Lake in their community as well as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers management and maintenance of the dam. Tours will begin at the Beech Fork Lake Visitor's Center in Lavalette.
Visitors must wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. Cameras are not permitted. Safety equipment will be provided for the tours. Large groups should schedule in advance of the event.
