TUCSON, Arizona — Police in Tucson say a 70-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle has died.
Sgt. Pete Dugan says Sharon Garrison died from her injuries Saturday morning, a day after she was hit while out walking.
Dugan says the incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. Friday near North Constitution Drive and East Constitution Place.
According to Dugan, Garrison and a friend were walking on the road shoulder heading southwest.
A vehicle heading the same direction struck Garrison at a bend in the roadway.
Dugan says the driver did remain at the scene and was fully cooperative with police.
Authorities so far have not issued any citations or charges.
