NEW YORK — Police say a man is dead after a hit-and-run on the FDR in Manhattan.

It happened early Friday morning as the 29-year-old man was walking on the highway. It's unclear why he was there.

Police say a gray sedan fled the scene. It was last seen going north on West 145th Street and Harlem River Drive.

Emergency Medical Services say the victim was taken to a hospital in cardiac arrest where he died from his injuries.

The man is not being identified until his family can be notified.
