Lake Havasu City firefighters rescue California family who ran out of water during park hike


LAKE HAVASU CITY, Arizona — Firefighters in Lake Havasu City have rescued a California family of six who ran out of water during a hike on the SARA Park trail.

Battalion Chief James Whitt says a fire department boat was dispatched about 1 p.m. Tuesday to rescue the group that included a woman and her brother and four children ages 16, 12, 9 and 4.

The names and hometown haven't been released.

Authorities say the six were diagnosed with heat exhaustion and four of them were airlifted to Havasu Regional Medical Center.
