JUNEAU, Alaska — Police in Juneau are trying to determine whether a driver was intoxicated when his vehicle struck a woman walking on the North Douglas Highway.
The Juneau Empire (http://bit.ly/1qUWqp9) reports the 33-year-old woman Sunday morning was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for evaluation.
She was struck just after 2 a.m. by a 52-year-old man.
Police say the woman's injuries were not life-threatening.
The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while impaired.
He was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for independent intoxication tests and released.
His vehicle was impounded.
Police say the pedestrian also had consumed alcohol.
