BELOIT, Wisconsin — Police have arrested a man whose car struck and killed a bicyclist in the City of Beloit.

Authorities say the 29-year-old Clinton man was arrested on suspicion of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

The crash happened around 1:50 a.m. Saturday on Milwaukee Road. Police say the car driver's alcohol count was over the legal limit.

The Rock County medical examiner's office identifies the bicyclist as 43-year-old Mario Esquivel-Flores of Beloit.

The cyclist was taken to a hospital after the collision and died shortly after arriving.

Police say the victim did not have any lights on the bicycle and was riding in the road when he was struck.
