ROCHESTER, New York — Officials are set to make an announcement about the new Rochester train station.
U.S. Rep. Louise Slaughter says she will join state Department of Transportation Commissioner Joan McDonald and other officials for an announcement Tuesday afternoon.
Slaughter has previously said construction is expected to begin on the long-awaited Amtrak station.
The current station in Rochester opened in 1978 and officials have talked about replacing it for years.
