BENNINGTON, Vermont — The town of Bennington and Southern Vermont College are going to be working together on a plan to improve the water system in parts of the community.
On Tuesday, Bennington voters approved a $3 million water bond to help pay for the project.
The town and college will build a 750,000-gallon water tank and a pump station to solve water pressure issues. The state had told the town the issue had to be resolved by 2018.
The Bennington Banner (http://bit.ly/1oFupTr ) reports the water will be pumped across the college campus to the tank where it would be stored for times when there is high demand, such as during a fire.
The college would become a customer of the water system.
