DUBUQUE, Iowa — The jury trial for a Dubuque man accused of shooting his 27-year-old daughter to death has been delayed until November.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1i9VWL6 ) that a judge on Friday ordered the trial for 62-year-old Robert Stern be continued to Nov. 10, based on a request from Stern's lawyer. The trial had been set to begin Sept. 1.

Stern has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

Officers were called to the Sterns' home June 9 to perform a welfare check after Robert Stern called 911 and said someone in the residence may have died.

Kimberly Stern's body was found in a bedroom, and officers say she'd been shot several times.
