COLUMBIA, South Carolina — South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is sitting down to hear what some of her constituents have to say. Haley is holding one-on-one meetings at her Statehouse offices on Tuesday afternoon.
Those who made appointments on Monday are being heard on a first-come, first-served basis. The governor says she will discuss any issue with her constituents. Haley has held constituent meetings across the state since becoming governor in January 2011.
The Statehouse constituent meetings continue a tradition started by her predecessor, Mark Sanford who is now congressman in the 1st Congressional District.
He, too, holds what he calls neighborhood office hours across the district where he talks with constituents about whatever is on their minds.
