DENVER — A 24-year-old man involved in a fatal shooting in the Denver suburb of Edgewater has been sentenced to life in prison.

Floyd Anthony Sandoval Jr. was sentenced Wednesday for the Oct. 17 death of 41-year-old John Goggin. Sandoval was convicted in September of several charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and conspiracy to possess 25 to 50 pounds of marijuana.

The Denver Post reports (http://dpo.st/1vXZAZ3 ) he killed Goggin after trying to rob the man of five pounds of marijuana at his home.

Sandoval, along with another man, pulled guns and demanded Goggin give them the marijuana. Goggin pulled his own gun and shots were fired, leaving Goggin dead and Sandoval injured.

Jose Palacio, the other man accused in Goggin's death, was arrested in Texas in August and has been returned to Colorado.
