Kamara's extra-time goal helps Crew advance to MLS Cup Eastern finals

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kei Kamara scored his second goal in the 111th minute and the Columbus Crew advanced to the MLS Cup Eastern Conference finals with a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Impact on Sunday night.

The second-seeded Crew needed extra time to gain the 4-3 series edge and will face the Supporters' Shield-winning New York Red Bulls for the conference championship. The first leg of the two-game series is in Columbus on Nov. 22.

Ethan Finlay tied the series score at 3-all and gave Columbus a 2-1 lead with a putback of Jack McInerney's blocked attempt in the 77th minute.

It also forced an extra 30 minutes after the end of regulation time with each team scoring an away goal in the series.

The third-seeded Impact entered the second leg with a 2-1 lead in the aggregate score and held a 3-2 series lead after Dilly Duka tied it 1-all with a loose-ball finish in the 40th minute.

Kamara opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a diagonal run and header.
