COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — A man involved in a crash that killed a motorcyclist in downtown Colorado Springs has been charged with careless driving resulting in death.

The Gazette reports ( ) 42-year-old Steven Hinman, of Calhan, also was ticketed for making an improper left turn and driving without a valid license and insurance after the Monday night crash that killed 27-year-old Dustin Downs, of Colorado Springs.

Investigators say Hinman turned in front of Downs, who later died of his injuries.
