ROCK SPRINGS, Wyoming — Rock Springs will get jet air service to Denver starting Feb. 1.
SkyWest Airlines had been using propeller planes to fly into and out of the Rock Springs/Sweetwater County Airport.
The jet aircraft are faster and have more seats.
In addition, the jets can be filled to capacity despite the thin air at the airport's elevation that sometimes limited the number of passengers on the propeller aircraft.
Sweetwater County Commissioner John Kolb tells the Rock Springs Rocket-Miner (http://bit.ly/1ua4bGu ) says air service will be more reliable with the jets.
SkyWest will offer two flights a day between Denver and Rock Springs. Flights to Salt Lake City have been discontinued.
