PORTLAND, Oregon — Firefighters rescued a woman from a burning home in southeast Portland after they heard her calling for help from the second floor.
KGW-TV reports that Portland Fire and Rescue spokesman Ron Rouse said the woman was in the early stages of being overcome by smoke inhalation when she was rescued Thursday morning.
Medics treated the woman after firefighters carried her from the house and she was then taken to a hospital. Her condition was not known late Thursday.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
