MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — A Morgantown man faces more than a dozen charges stemming from a boating accident that injured 12 people.
The Dominion Post (http://bit.ly/1I3vvfv ) reports that the Division of Natural Resources charged 20-year-old Brandon Solomon on Wednesday. The charges include 11 counts of boating under the influence causing injury and one count each of operating an unregistered vessel and boating without enough flotation devices. It is unclear if he has a lawyer.
The open bow boat owned and operated by Solomon ran into an embankment and trees on Memorial Day.
An accident report released Thursday by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources said the operator fell from behind the wheel and lost control of the boat. Alcohol, drugs and excessive speed were listed as contributing factors.
