APALACHIN, New York — New York State Police say a 43-year-old Pennsylvania man has died after his motorcycle collided with a car being driven on an upstate road by a Pennsylvania motorist.

Troopers say 71-year-old Donald Ulmer of Little Meadows, Pennsylvania was driving his car on state Route 434 Sunday afternoon when he made a left turn onto Pennsylvania Avenue in the Owego County hamlet of Apalachin (ap-ah-LAY'-kin), in New York's Southern Tier, 12 miles west of Binghamton.

Police say Ulmer turned in front of a motorcycle driven by Auburn Lyons of South Gibson, Pennsylvania. Lyons crashed into the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say their investigation into the crash is continuing.
