CARSON CITY, Nevada — Nevada prison officials say an inmate with a chronic medical condition has died.
The Nevada Department of Corrections says in a statement Tuesday that 59-year-old Donald Hamilton died the day before in the medical center at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
Corrections officials say an autopsy will be conducted.
The agency says Hamilton had been in prison since January 2002.
He was serving consecutive sentences of 10 years to life for sexual assault, two to 10 years for sexual assault against a child and another two to 10 years for abuse.
Prison officials did not release additional information.
Messages left with a corrections department spokesman were not immediately returned.
